We are only facilitators in finding the best accommodation from which to run our camps, are not travel agents and have no experience of providing flights, other than those we have arranged for the purposes of our camps. However, we do know about traveling to Sal and where it's best to book flights independently to get the best prices.
You can fly from any airport in the UK if you stop at Lisbon and transfer there for the onward journey to Sal. Direct flights are available through Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester using Thompson.
The TAP (air Portugal) flight from Portugal arrives at 1:00 am and flies every day, so is more variable in terms of when you can travel. The Thompson flights only go once a week from each airport, but takes less time due to the lack of a transfer. They also generally arrive in the early afternoon. Traveling with bikes we have found that TAP charge either nothing, if your bike is in a purpose build box or bag, or a maximum of £60 if your luggage weight is well over the maximum allowed per passenger in your party. Thompsons have gone down the route of charging for each piece of baggage placed in the hold so you should be able to calculate the cost, although we have not taken a bike that way.
The lowest TAP flight we can find now is £494.86 leaving Friday or Saturday from Heathrow, arriving in Sal Saturday or Sunday 1:00 am with the return flight a week later at 2:00 am:
