While the sun is shining it's far easier to practice the things that matter. We specialise in filming and analysis, taking slow motion video from various angles both on land and underwater. Spending time with you, analysing the results helps you see areas in your technique that might be leading to:

  1. Minor or Major Niggles and injuries.
  2. Slower performances than you're capable of.

So we focus on:

  • Assessing your Swim Technique, to begin correcting any errors.
  • Filming Your Run Technique, to eliminate flaws that could be holding you back.
  • Open water swimming skills.
  • Set Achievable goals for your upcoming season.

    Yoga Cape Verde

    At the start of the week the programme will be heavily biased towards analysing your technique, so we uncover potential issues in your swimming stroke, run technique and cycling style. From this you'll have a good understanding of what you need to concentrate on to improve.

    After that we will begin building speed while you retain that same good technique.

    Apart from technical elements we are here to help you begin to train more effectively. The longest cycle will be 3 hours, other rides will concentrate on specific aspects of your racing and training that will help you set a good programme when you're back in the UK.

    We're introducing the option of morning Yoga this year, run by Sheena patron of Yoga Cape Verde. Sheena is the one on the roof of the Surf Zone building - left. There's an additional cost for this, which makes it open to both camp members and partners and their families.

    Sprint Distance Training

    Have your swim technique analysed & learn corrective drills specific to you.

    • Begin to run correctly to minimise chances of injury.
    • Kick start your cycling and learn correct techniques for cornering, descending etc.
    • Set yourself reasonable time targets for your season..

    Standard Distance Triathlon

    • Expert stroke analysis and practice, aimed at hitting targets.
    • Open water practice to sight and pace for best racing results.
    • Kick start your cycle at race intensity.
    • Have your running analyses to maximise speed and endurance.
    • Minimise your time through transitions.

    Long and Ironman Distance

    • Cape Verde is perfect practice for Lanzarote and Hawaii
    • Cycle into a strong headwind.....
    • Open water swim in 20 to 22 degrees.
    • Kick start your distance training.
    • Learn to run with good leg speed to save energy.
    • Set realistic goals for your races, plan to hit those goals.

    A fat bike may be the best way to get around Sal.

    You can go everywhere - over sand and across the volcanic terrain.

    Run analysis is a key element at the beginning of the week.

    Slow motion video is always helpful to see exactly how you're running.

    Swimming is a pleasure in the blue waters of Santa Maria.

    The water is between 20C and 24C all year round - wet suits are optional.
